Why a Modular Home?

Modular homes offer several advantages over traditional builds, including superior strength due to thicker walls and factory construction, reduced risk of weather damage, theft, and delays, along with increased energy efficiency, faster completion times, and potential cost savings.

9 Reasons to Build a Modular

Authorities, like Bob Villa, testify that system-built homes “save money, they make sense…”
01

Stronger Walls

Modular homes have 2 x 6 exterior walls constructed from the best lumber. On-site built houses are typically built with 2 x 4 walls and are open to rain during construction which can cause wood to warp or swell leading to a lifetime of structural problems.
02

Precision Cuts

Modular homes have superior construction materials and techniques. Materials cut with hand held equipment at a job site cannot compare to computerized precision cutting saws and jigs.
03

Extra Strength, Secure Delivery

To insure a secure trip to your home site, modular homes are built with up to 20% to 30% more lumber in framing your home.
04

Reduced Theft, Secure Homes

Our homes have a reduced threat of job-site theft and damage—problems that have plagued on-site building in recent years.
05

Code Verified, Built Right

Factory inspections cover every construction detail of systems-built homes which are built to the strictest codes (URC and IRC). Trained independent third party inspectors perform numerous inspections on each house.
06

Stable Crew, Faster Build

Factories offer skilled craftsmen steady employment and benefits, resulting in a consistent skilled labor force. You’ll have fewer worries about delays relating to inexperienced or tardy contractors as your home is nestled within the factory confines.
07

Efficient Design, Lower Bills

With additional insulation and precision craftsmanship, system-built homes are more energy efficient. Your utility bills will be lower and will save you money in years to come.
08

Fast Customization, Quick Move-In

You can custom order your new home and move it to your land in just a matter of weeks.
09

Wholesale Savings, Top Materials

Factories buy a large amount of lumber, sheet rock, paint etc. They get the highest quality products at bulk pricing.

Frequently asked questions

A modular home is built in sections in a factory under controlled conditions. It is transported to the site on a carrier, where it is placed on the foundation and assembled by a local builder.

Modular homes look like any other site built home.

A double wide (manufactured home) is built on a non removable steel chassis and travels to the site on its own wheels.  Our system built modulars are built using convention 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 dimensional lumber or engineered trusses like a site built house.  Our modular appreciates just like any other site built home.

Modulars are constructed to the same state and local building codes and are subject to the same zoning regulations as site-built homes. Manufactured homes are built to a different code (the Federal Construction Safety Standards Act HUD Code).

A modular home has a deed like a site built home; a manufactured home comes with a title like a vehicle.

Because they are built in a factory, there are no problems due to weather conditions.

There is design flexibility.

Modulars are cost effective and offer more rapid completion.

Modulars are built strong enough so that they can be moved to your site and can be picked up on a nylon sling and set on your foundation. A site built home could not withstand this.

Modular homes offer the highest quality. They are built in a controlled environment and are engineered for a lifetime of trouble-free structural durability. Quality control is maintained by constant inspection through the construction process.  All of our homes are Energy Star compliant.

Modular homes give greater value for your money. When you add up all the labor, material and time savings inherent in the modular process, you will find that the price of a modular home is generally lower than a site built home of comparable size and options.

Each of our homes comes with a ten year structural warranty. They also have the warranties offered by the manufacturer of their component products (Anderson, Shaw, Congoleum, Certainteed, etc.)
